Welcome to HomeSchoolLA!

 Ok, I know we've been around for a while, now.  Yes, we are in our 4th year.  Can you believe it?  We certainly can't!  It doesn't seem like that long ago when we were just contemplating starting a website.  We had no idea of what we were doing or how to do it.  People came in and helped where they could, but ultimately, it was just a handful of moms with an idea about something that they thought would be cool.

 And now, 4 years have gone by!

  A few months ago we took a hard look at things and knew the site needed some upgrades.  But to be honest, the four of us are no more website savvy today than we were the first day we started producing HomeSchoolLA.  We've managed to keep the website running, but we really needed behind the scenes "big guns" for what needed to be done.

 Thank the internet for FaceBook and Twitter!  We put out a call (ok, it was a plea - but let's not fuss over words) and to our rescue came Crystal Jones.  Her business "Over the Hill Web Consulting Services" stepped in and has taken over managing our administration of the website.  She took a long look at our site and decided to come on board. 

So, what's in store for the site?  Wonderful, WONDERFUL new things!!

First, well in the background, we will get the much needed support and security the site has needed.  For the most part, this won't affect you, the end user - so just ignore that I even mentioned it.

Next - UPGRADES!  We'll soon have a new, sleeker and easier to use look to the site.  Our well known "front page" with a new photo every month (or quarter) will also go away.  Don't mourn!  The new look will have photos of Los Angeles and even occasional, familiar faces.  We're even getting a logo!  So, you'll always know when you are looking at something that is HomeSchoolLA related!

 But that's not all!  The HomeSchoolLA organization is changing, too!  We are looking at restructuring our group to bring in volunteers to help see that we create and maintain the BEST homeschooling website in Los Angeles!  We will be looking for volunteers soon!  If you are interested, please just pull one of us aside (or email us - you know!) and say so.  We're a growing group and it takes all of us to make it happen.  Be a part of our team!

 It's a new day and a new look for HomeSchoolLA and we'll be working hard over the summer and getting all of the changes in place.  So look for the NEW & IMPROVED HomeSchoolLA starting with the new school year!  We're excited - and we hope you are too!
